About 100 small business owners gathered at the dinner program on May 29th at Hilton Medical Center. The evening featured US Small Business Administration District Director, Mr. Manuel R. González , as keynote speaker. Mr. Gonzales introduced US Small Business Administration Services to local businessmen and women.
Mr Gonzales stated that SBA Houston District provided more than 500 million dollar finance guarantees for 2000 small businesses and SBA doors are wide open to TTACC members as well. In his speech, Gonzales said that Nike, Fedex, AOL, Apple, Compaq and Intel are among the companies which started their businesses with the help of US SBA. One of the participants who started his business with the help of SBA told his story about how the company grew from a 6 people start-up to a 800 employee conglomerate.
Besides the businessmen and women, Consul Corps including Consul General of Turkey, Deputy Consul General of China, state representative Dora Olivia, local business media, and organizations joined the dinner.
